2nd VOLUNTARY BEACH CLEAN-UP DAY #THESURFTOWNCOMMUNITY

After the success of our first experience, we've decided to do this activity again. THE SURF TOWN, along with sponsorship from SURFRIDER FUNDATION and the support of Benalmádena City Council , is once again organizing the 2nd #Thesurftowncommunity Voluntary Beach Cleanup Day on our municipality's beaches.

During the first collection, we realized the seriousness of the situation facing our beaches due to the amount of waste dumped there. Rain and storms always wash away the reality and expose it to the coast, which is why we organized this initiative again. We learned a lesson about the need for environmental education and awareness, and the serious impact of dumping trash in the sea or on beaches.

Each individual must do their part. Our municipality is well-maintained, but everything can be improved. We must work as a team for our natural environment; it's a common good.

On the first day, we filled more than 40 extra-large trash bags with all kinds of plastic utensils, cigarette butts, cans, wipes, glass... anything biodegradable that will take years to disappear.

If you wish to participate in this activity, you must register through the official Initiatives Oceanes website at this link, as this will cover you with liability insurance from the Surfrider Foundation.

We will subsequently send all the collected data to the Surf Rider Foundation , which will then enter it into its database. This contributes to research on marine debris and helps advance legislation.
